Dear Friends of Star House,

Thanks to your support, Star House continues to provide youth experiencing homelessness in Central Ohio with safe respite from the streets and crucial connections to stabilizing resources. So far this year, Star House has served 373 individuals and, in some cases, their small children at our drop-in center with 7,788 visits. Star House's drop-in center guests are provided access to food, clothing, hygiene items, laundry facilities, showers and a safe place to be. Beyond basic needs, our clinical team provides therapy and case management, and partner agencies provide on-site and community-based access to stabilizing resources, such as housing, transportation, employment, education, addiction services, legal aid, government benefits, ID cards and health care through our partners Nationwide Children’s Hospital and PrimaryOne Health. In addition, 54 of 62 apartments have been filled at Carol Stewart Village—Star House and Finance Fund's affordable, supportive neighborhood for youth, ages 18 to 25.

During the week of June 6, 2021, Reach Radio is airing a special weeklong series titled, "SDOH: Addressing the Needs of the Homeless." The series will explore the work of organizations across the country who are leading the efforts in ensuring the health and safety of those who are most vulnerable. On June 9, an episode devoted to Star House will air, in which Ann Bischoff, Star House CEO, discusses the work Star House is doing to lift young people out of homelessness and into community.
