Recent Panel Participation
On January 26, Star House was represented on the Columbus Metropolitan Club's forum, titled “Organizations Laser-Focused on Social Impact.” Star House was grateful to participate on the panel to discuss our impact and how our community can come together to make a greater impact on youth experiencing homelessness. On December 14, Star House participated in a Columbus Dispatch panel discussion, titled “Columbus Conversations: Can People Afford to Live Here?” The panel focused on the affordable housing needs of Greater Columbus. You can watch it here.
Star House is deeply grateful for the support we receive from our community via third-party fundraisers, donation drives and more. Many thanks to The Ohio History Connection, who has graciously been hosting a donation drive for Star House throughout the month of January.
On February 24 from 6-8 p.m., the Columbus Brewing Company (located at 2555 Harrison Road, Columbus, OH 43204) is hosting a happy hour benefitting Star House. Please join us and support youth experiencing homelessness.
Volunteer Spotlight
Star House received an overwhelming amount of support this holiday season from our generous community, which left our warehouse in need of sorting and organizing. We would like to extend a huge thank you to groups from Abercrombie & Fitch, Nationwide Children's Hospital's Residency Program, and Columbus Gives Back for helping us catch up on sorting the donations we've received. We deeply appreciate your service!
Monetary Donations
Now more than ever, Star House would benefit greatly from discretionary general operating funding to support our day-to-day services for youth. Please consider making a monetary donation. Item Donations
We currently accept new and gently used items. Items can be either mailed or dropped off at Star House's drop-in center (1220 Corrugated Way, Columbus OH 43201) between 10 A.M. and 2 P.M. Monday through Friday. Star House's most urgent needs include the following in adult sizes:
Hand warmers
Tents
Men's sweatpants (adult sizes)
Sleeping bags
Hoodies
Sweatshirts (Men's and Women's adult sizes)
Deodorant
Toothbrushes
Natural hair care products
