News

On January 26, the Columbus Metropolitan Club hosted a forum that focused on organizations who are laser-focused on social impact in our community. Star House was represented on the panel, which allowed us to discuss our impact and share how our community can come together to make a greater impact on youth experiencing homelessness. Events

Are you in the competitive spirit and gearing up for March Madness? Then consider joining Star House for our March Kindness Gift Card Drive, in which we are seeking gift cards from our guests' Final 4 favorite places, including Giant Eagle, Kroger, Walmart and Wendy's.

In the spirit of March Madness, we encourage you to create teams or brackets with the four gift card options and compete with friends, family members and coworkers to see who can score the most gift cards. Please send your gift cards to Star House, Attn: Kat Earles, 1220 Corrugated Way, Columbus, OH 43201. Thank you for participating in this exciting competition! No matter who comes out on top, the winners will ultimately be Star House guests!

Star House is thankful for the support we receive from our community via third-party fundraisers, donation drives and more. Many thanks to Stauf's Coffee Roasters for selling and donating a portion of sales from the Star House Blend at their locations and for hosting a donation drive for us in December and January. Please join us for the following events coming up in March:

  • Kendra Gives Back with Kendra Scott Jewelry at Easton (March 20, Noon-3 p.m.): 20% of all sales will be donated back to Star House.

  • Land Grant's Let's Give Event at Land Grant Brewery (March 30): 20% of all sales will be donated to Star House.

Partnership Spotlight

We are grateful for our service partner, Pass the Class, whose volunteers provide on-site tutoring and assist guests with resumes, job applications and more. Thank you for your dedication and commitment to helping our youth succeed!

Volunteer Spotlight

Gracehaven Youth for Christ recently gave their first sex trafficking preventative education training of the year, which they will be doing monthly. Many youth participated and engaged in the session.

Donor Shoutout and Acknowledgement

We would like to give a huge shoutout to One Dublin for their recent donation of 472 pairs of brand-new men’s athletic shoes for Star House guests!

Star House recently received an exciting grant from Google through their Data Center Community Grants Program to launch a Technology Flex Fund for Star House guests! This support will allow us to purchase vital technology for youth, such as cell phones, laptops and tablets and cover the cell phone and Wi-Fi payments of guests. We are so grateful to Google for the opportunity to provide these crucial resources!
