We are thankful for the support we receive from our community via third-party fundraisers, donation drives and more. Many thanks to Jeni's Ice Cream for their Ice Cream Social Day on April 28! Please join us for the following upcoming events:
White Castle Round-up at the Register will take place at two White Castle locations (801 E. 5th Avenue and 965 N. High Street) throughout May and June.
Parsons North Brewing Company is hosting a Community Night benefitting Star House on May 5. 10% of all sales will be donated to Star House.
Local Cantina (all locations) will donate $2 from every “Stargarita” sold from May 10-June 6 to Star House.
Star House and Finance Fund’s application for the State Farm Neighborhood Assist® Program has been selected as one of 200 finalists from across the country! 100 finalists will receive $25,000 grants this year. We need you to rally behind our cause and cast your votes to help us in supporting youth exiting homelessness in Central Ohio!
A gift in the amount of $25,000 will enable us to support the installation of laundry facilities and outdoor recreation, security, and beautification features at Carol Stewart Village (CSV), our neighborhood for young adults, ages 18-24, with on-site programs and services. CSV offers 62 studio apartments with on-site access to transitional jobs, education, health care, mental health and addiction services and social connections through mentorships, peer support and community engagement options.
Voting opens today and runs through May 6. You can vote up to 10 times per day, every day for our cause. Winners will be announced on June 7. Thank you for your support—we can't do this without you! VOTE HERE!
United Way of Central Ohio is pulling together the caring power of our community to be United for Impact. From May 9 to May 13, your generous donation will strengthen central Ohio nonprofits just like Star House. Every dollar raised moves us closer to unlocking more than $225,000 in bonus prizes for central Ohio nonprofits. AND we receive 100% of the money you give to our organization.
There are two ways you can be United for Impact:
Give directly to our organization and up to four others in one transaction. Simply visit liveunitedcentralohio.org/unitedforimpact between 8 a.m. May 9 and 12 p.m. May 13, and click 'give now' after searching for Star House in the list.
Or make a single donation that is split evenly among the 75 participating nonprofits.
We’ve always been stronger together. Join us and let’s be United for Impact as one powerfully caring community.
We are immensely grateful for our service partner, the Legal Aid Society of Columbus, which offers legal advice and services to our drop-in center guests and Carol Stewart Village residents up to two times a week on-site.
Besa, which connects people with community through experiences that transform lives, is a longtime volunteer group of Star House that provides assistance in our warehouse at least once a month and has for several years. Thank you for your consistent support and dedication, Besa team!
