Star House Impact in 2021

Updated: Jun 29, 2022

Star House is deeply grateful for our community's generous support, which enabled us to continue providing youth experiencing homelessness in Central Ohio with safe respite, basic needs and access to crucial, stabilizing resources throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2021, Star House continued to provide youth at our drop-in center access to food, clothing, hygiene items, laundry facilities, showers and a safe place to be. Beyond basic needs, our clinical team provided therapy and case management, and partner agencies provided on-site and community-based access to stabilizing resources, such as housing, transportation, health care, employment, education, addiction services, legal aid, government benefits, ID cards and more. In addition, we provided crucial social services to over 80 residents at Carol Stewart Village (CSV)—a neighborhood for young adults, ages 18-24, with on-site programs and services. CSV offers 62 studio apartments with on-site access to transitional jobs, education, health care, mental health and addiction services and social connections through mentorships, peer support and community engagement options. CSV is a collaboration between joint owners CMHA, Finance Fund and Star House.

Our team is pleased to share our 2021 Annual Snapshot, which demonstrates our impact in 2021. You can find it, as well as a downloadable copy, below.
