People facing extreme hardship often need more than a link to a social-services agency or food pantry. The Columbus Foundation’s Gifts of Kindness Fund is one of the few programs that offers financial help fast so that recipients can hold onto their homes, jobs and vehicles.
“This is a godsend for so many of our youth,” Ann Bischoff, CEO of Star House, the city’s only 24-hour drop-in center for homeless teens and young adults, said of the Kindness Fund.
